Hi! I hope the owner of Hanul sees this comment. My brother came to visit my family and we took him to eat korean food. The owner made a comment saying that my son had big eyes like my brother. After my brother flew back home, he went to the doctor and discovered he had thyroid cancer and the big eyes were symptom of it. Because the place is closed I have no other way to say thank you. On your last day before retiring... what a thing to happen! Our most sincere thank you!!

On a late night, cold rainy day, Korean TOFU SOUP is the first thing that comes to mind. I was surprises there was a decent amount of people here. For a mom and pop, the owner was SUPER friendly and most of the customers seem to be regulars. He makes you feel at home. Tofu Soup - Satisfied my cravings, nothing special but the service. Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by and try out their dishes!

Very homey Korean spot that has all the classics! The service was wonderful and we felt very welcome. The food came out pretty quickly as well. I enjoyed the kimchi pancake and noodles. The portions were ample. While it is a bit on the pricier side, it is reasonable because it's a mom and pop business.

First time here and I love it. Very cozy place, it feels like more of a family business with homemade dishes. The interior is simple and might need upgrade. But the staff is very friendly, smiley and welcoming! The price is moderate, I'd say it's even cheaper than other Korean restaurants. My choice was fried rice and BIbimGukSoo. Delicious! If you don't like spicy food, just don't add the sauce. They serve you with water and side dishes. They accept Amex. You can pay beforehand and save time after you finish.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants! I've tried an assortment of their dishes and I have yet find a dish I didn't like. All of the soups are delicious and you can change your level of spice based on your personal taste. The cold noodles are also really good and refreshing. The owner is very sweet and personable, he is very attentive no matter how busy the restaurant is. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and have never had an issue finding parking in the plaza. There's also some boba spots nearby!

Great local restaurant with homemade kimchi and friendly vibes! Stopped by Hanul because I was craving a comforting and homey meal. They don't skimp on the galbi, they're thick and yummy. Also got the budae jigae which had all the works, baked beans, rice cake, ramen, tofu, kimchi, spam, and even little pieces of beef! I do wish it was a little spicier though, but still delicious. Free hot tea too which was great because it was a cold day.

What can I say, I go here so often the restaurant owners remember what I usually eat. My partner and I love this small family-owned Korean restaurant so so much !!!! It's a hidden gem. Can I just tell you all their food is BOMB and must-try? Their homemade kimchi is the best kimchi I have ever had, we always buy more as a jar to-go. Their Korean short ribs are amazing and smell like sweet summer barbeque with family and friends. I'm just at loss for words here so I'm leaning to my humor. Their soup broth for all the soup dishes always have me at tears because of how good it is. We have tasted most dishes on the menu and we were never disappointed. I will definitely visit many more times and I strongly recommend Hanul if you ever need to try good Korean food.

This place is located in a small plaza next to Nob Hill. We came here on a Saturday evening around dinner time and there was relatively little wait to order. After we placed our order, we got our food within 20 minutes. We ordered the tteokbokki (rice cakes) in spicy and added cheese into our order (extra $2). Although the tteokbokki doesn't come with side dishes, the owner was nice enough to give us side dishes upon request. The rice cakes were nice and chewy and there was also cabbage, carrots and fish cakes included which were delicious. However, the sauce was not spicy at all and overall not very flavorful, a bit on the sweeter side instead. While I found the sauce to be not very flavorful, I enjoyed my overall experience and will be back in the future to try more dishes!
